Yard - Fully landscaped, terraced and grassed. The property has its own beach frontage - just 8 meters from the front door to the beach. The property is retained by a 4m high, 2m thick retaining wall.

Sunset Beach House can sleep up to ten guests.
There are 4 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms.
Master Bedroom - Queen-size bed with ensuite and walk in robe. Large doors opening onto the Upper Deck with spectacular views from the bedroom. Contemporary Teak Dresser and Mirror.
Bedroom Two - Queen-size bed with teak Dresser/draws. Teak Clothes Hangers. Large Doors opening on to Lower deck with ocean views.
Bedroom Three - Two large single beds with teak dresser/draws.
Bedroom Four - Two Large Single beds with 2 additional pull out single beds. Ocean View- opens on to upper deck and adjacent to Toilet/Washroom.
CLEANING AND SECURITY
The property has two cleaners, Martin and Anisah. They usually arrive at approximately 8am and clean to 4 pm every day. They are more than happy to do all your washing and ironing as well. Please see price list in the House. Otherwise feel free to use the washing machine – instructions next to the machine.
The Security Guard usually arrives at 6pm and leaves at 6am. He will turn on perimeter lights and keep watch during the night. This is common in Indonesia. Please ensure the House is locked when you leave (except when cleaners are onsite) and when you sleep.
There are clear instructions on the Kitchen Bench relating to all matters regarding the house.
The house has a 2000 litre water tank. If the water goes off use it conservatively and it will last 2 days.
The electricity sometimes goes off after electrical storms. There is a 7.5 KVA Generator and Martin will power it up when the power goes off.

Located on the Karang Hawu Bay, next to the Sunset Plaza Hotel, The Property is a couple of kilometres from Indicators and approximately 3.5 km from Cimaja. Other breaks in the area Include Loji , Karang Sari, and Suwarna. Turtles is on the other side of the Bay at Genting.
There are a lot of very good beach breaks in the area including a left and a right in front of the Property. They usually work best on low swell and high tides.
The surf is very consistent and the offshore lasts to about 1pm most days. Late afternoon glass offs are common especially in the off season. No mention of what the crowds are like from us !! Think of Bali about 40 years ago and you will get the picture.
Panaitan is easily accessible and involves a three hour car ride and a two hour boat trip.
SURF GUIDE
Typical of Indonesia, the surf is very dependent on tide, swell direction and size, and wind.
Save yourself a lot of hassle and wasted time and hire a surf guide.
EGG is a local surfer and has been operating as a surf guide for about 5 years. He is very well known in the area. He can help you out with transport, shopping, restaurants and all manner of things.
He has a good Nikon Camera and will take photos of you in the surf.
He charges about 100,000 Rupiah (about $11 AUD) a day. Surf photography is additional.

Bat Cave (click for more info.)
Locally known as Goa Lalay, the cave is about three kilometers from Pelabuhanratu town - about 15 km from Sunset Beach House. Here you can watch up millions of bats leaving their roost in the bat cave at around 5PM.
Hot Springs (click for more info.)
At Cisolok, about 5 km from the House, you can find some river hot springs where you can bask at your leisure. Experience the volcanic origin of the archipelago and enjoy the view of unpolluted rivers.
Giant marine turtles laying eggs at Ujung Genteng (click for more info.)
At the southern-most tip of the bay lies the nature reserve Ujung Genteng where most nights of the year giant marine turtles, often over 100 kgs, come to lay eggs.
Local Markets
The wet fish markets in Pelabuhan Ratu shows the abundance of sea life in the bay and ocean. The town has many fine fresh seafood restaurants.
Night life
On Saturday nights try Evans and listen to the Rock and Roll Band. The Kareoke Bar next door is a fun night out and is open on weekends and special occaisions.
Motorbike (or car) trips: explore the surrounding area.
Rent motorbikes and head out on the quiet local roads through rubber, teak and coconut plantations with picturesque views and discover beautiful beaches, waterfalls and river gorges.
Trekking and Hiking in Gunung Halimun National Park (click for more info.)
This National Park is a secret treasure and covers 40000 Hectares. It has unique flora and fauna, some found nowhere else in the world, over a variety of habitats from 500m to 1900m. The South part of the Park is the most preserved and is accessed from approximately 7 km from the House.
White-water rafting (click for more info.)
The famous Citarik river cascades down to the coast from Gunung Halimun through lush rice paddies, towering gorges and virgin forest. A range of full, half day, and over night trips are offered.
Caving
High rainfall, multiple rivers and limestone are the perfect combination for cave creation. These are spectacular, abundant and rarely entered and beg the adventurous to explore them.
Deep-sea fishing, Scuba diving and Boat Trips.

Local produce – Barbeque Your Own
Right next door is Sunset Plaza Resort with a selection of Western and Indonesian dishes. The best steaks in the area! Try some of Ron's (the owner) specialities such as Ginger Chicken with Steamed Vegies and Chap Chay with Chicken and Local Chilli Relish.
In Cimaja try Nora's – Cimaja Square - for some yummy gear and local Hospitality.
Evans – next to Desa Resort- has sensational Thai Food and the freshest Salads you will ever get! Relax over a Bintang and watch the surf at Cimaja.
There are a heap of other restaurants in the area.
The fish markets at Pelabuhan Ratu have freshly caught seafood at very cheap prices. Go there and select your own or ask Anton (see transport) to order some. All seafood is packed in Foam Eskies on Ice.
The local Butcher imports beef from Australia - you can get most cuts but order a day in advance.
The local markets at Cisolok and Pelabuhan Ratu have all manner of fresh fruit and vegetables.
There is a local supermarket, Alpha mart, 20m across the road, and a large supermarket – Selamat – in Pelabuhan Ratu
